Framed Mirrors

Framed mirrors are a mainstay in all homes but choosing the right one with high style is the key to creating a beautiful room. Stylish framed mirror designs not only visually expand the size of a room, but can infuse a space with more light. The right mirror can also decoratively fill a wall for much less than original art, so why not consider one? Savvy Home blog has some very chic shots of beautiful rooms sporting great looking mirrors.

Round Mirrors

1. Howard Elliott Black Lacquer Round Wall Mirror

Round mirrors are a great counterpoint to bookcases and fireplace mantles. The feminine curves of a round mirror have been design staples from the 15th century, through the Federal period as well as today. While you can find round mirrors in many colors and materials, a safe bet is the classic black and gold.

Sunburst Mirrors

2. Vela Distressed Gold Sunburst Wall Mirror

Sunburst mirrors are nothing short of playful and elegant. Rooted in French design, these gems are great in foyers, bedrooms and living rooms. Stylistically they are graphic yet still traditional.

Rectangular Mirrors

3. Pecan Tradition Wood Framed Wall Mirror

Rectangular mirrors are probably the most versatile style around and are the most functional. Rectangular or square shapes allow you to see more, especially when getting dressed. Additionally, if you have a basic wood variety, it can be painted, decoupaged or silver and gold leafed.

Formal Mirrors

4. Uttermost Portici Antiqued Ivory Wall Mirror

Formal mirrors have an old world charm that is hard to resist. Ornately carved or embellished with colored glass, formal mirrors look like family heirlooms and add an air of elegance to both traditional and modern rooms.

Framed Bathroom Mirrors

5. Uttermost Bergamo Wall Mirror

Bathroom mirrors need not always be part of a medicine chest. Because bathrooms are used every day, when not use something special? New bathroom lighting like sconces are a beautiful way to highlight framed mirrors and complete a mini makeover.

If a framed mirror is too heavy or ornate for your taste, there's always the option of using frameless beveled mirrors instead. (You might be surprised how pretty and interesting these can look!)
