How can you go wrong with traditional table lamps? Even in a contemporary space, the great design of a classic form can look sculptural. Lamps Plus has an entire section of table lamps that will inspire and surely brighten any space from bedside table to foyer. I found inspiration for this post while perusing Habitually Chic which always has such sumptuous images. Without question, as the world becomes more modern, we somehow still revel in what’s time-honored and classic.
1. English Floral Hand-Painted Porcelain Ginger Jar Table Lamp 2. Set of 2 Emily Crackle Bronze Buffet Lamps
Traditional table lamps with rich detailing have always been the hallmark of high style and nothing says high style better than a blue and white vase table lamps. Originally this style of lamp was conceived when people converted antique vases and ginger jars into lamps, something we don’t need to do today but the affect is still the same...beautiful.
Classic candlestick buffet lamps are also a design staple. Perfect for dining rooms and foyers, they are great for people with limited space as they take up virtually no space.

Just as the colors black and white will never go out of style, so too is that with black and white lamps. What I love most about these lamps is that we tend to focus on the graceful curves of the pottery when we are in the presence of this type of lighting. In my book, simple and elegant will always wins out over flashy.
Don’t forget that in design just because one word may describe a trend or design, that there is only one way to interpret that description. Above are some great examples of the many shapes found in traditional table lamps.
