Layering a room is critical to make it look designer-done and layers of lavender is one way to add subtle and romantic color to any space. The Zhush is an excellent source for images that feature purples and lavender.
Lavender may seem to be a touch granny, but I assure you that it has become a go-to color for contemporary design with feminine undertones.
Layering is all about creating a finished looking room. Think about the additional pillows on a sofa or bed, a throw for the side of a chair as well as dishes and vases that complete a vignette.
Lighting can also be used in layering. Purple designer lamps can be used, then choose ornate or rectangular mirrors to reflect your pretty color scheme.
I love the Indian-Inspired fabric swags that soften and create a headboard in the lower bedroom image and the way a simple lavender dish on the desk carries the canopy color across the bedroom in the upper left image.
Lavender can be modern as witnessed in the slender glass lamps on the credenza or in the contemporary painting to the left. Lavender is just the right amount of saturated color if you want to break away fro plain beige and white but are not quite ready for deeper blues, greens or aubergine.
1. The bold Howard Elliott Bolt Eggplant Throw Pillow has a fresh and modern look that will add pizzazz to sofas and beds.
2. The Arteriors Home Jensen Amethyst Glass Bottle Table Lamp would be beautiful on a credenza or hallway table.
3. Create a romantic boudoir atmosphere with a Lavender Silk Shade.
4. Cozy up with the Surya Teegan Gray and Mauve Throw Blanket.
5. The fun-loving Purple Haze Oval Twist Wall Mirror would be ideal in a teen’s bedroom or bath.
