Modern Moroccan Design

Modern Moroccan Design is no longer your grandma’s souk! Crisp and bright design with cheerful colors should compliment the old-world designs and shapes of classic Moroccan Architecture.

Domain Home had a chic spread that I had to share. This exotic design scheme is hard to copy in the traditional American home, however if you have a simple white backdrop you can infuse your space with some of the basic elements of this popular look.

Moroccan Interior Design

Don’t you just want to kick off your shoes and feel the cool tiles on your feet? This Moroccan interior is so cool I can hardly stand it. From the romantic glass work and Moorish arches to the patterned glass and vibrant textiles this look is super chic.

I really like the use of classic chandeliers juxtaposed with earthy pottery and inlaid furniture... Even the metalwork on the windows feels less confined due to the elegant geometric pattern.

If your home is character free, you can always introduce patterns with designer area rugs and patterned accent pillows.

Moroccan Style Accessories

1. Old World Moroccan design can be achieved with the Bettina Antique Brass Lantern.

2. The Vertigo Silver Leaf Chandelier is a nod to modern day Morocco.

3. I love how the Kaleen Casablanca Ivory Wool Area Rug plays off the look of a classic tile floor.

4. The Safavieh Moroccan White Ceramic Accent mirrors traditional Moroccan architecture.

5. The Medrassa Tile Openwork Rectangular Wall Mirror takes its look from Moroccan window metal work.
