My top four Autumn decor tips are all about infusing texture into your post Summer spaces. I know there are a few weeks before the official onset of Autumn but it’s never too early to prepare for one of the best seasons of the year.
I found some fabulous images on Habitually Chic that are sure to inspire.
Texture
My first must-for-Fall home is leather. Whether it’s a leather chair or fireplace bumper, try to find something a tad weathered with some patina. Brown leather is timeless and a little can go a long way.
I’m not saying go out and get a large sectional sofa, rather, a chic pouf or ottoman would be ideal.
Also, faux leather achieves the same effect and is a little easier on our environment.
Brass
The second autumnal love of my life is aged brass. Quite frankly it’s becoming an addiction. The warmth of this material transports me to my perfect English Estate...in my mind!
From picture lights to stylish ceiling lights, designer table lamps and sconces, aged brass captures the hues of Fall.
Pattern
While I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to wear leopard, I have no problem using this pattern in my home. You can’t go wrong with this print and I love it on pillows and flooring. It’s warm, welcoming and has a Parisian flair.
Textiles
So you may think talking about throws is a bore, but when you need a little something to layer on a sofa, chair or bed is there anything better?
For me the bigger the better and if I could, I would have one for every day of the week like scarves...which is also a minor obsession of mine.
