As the year draws to a close and the halls are un-decked and the trees are tucked away in the attic and the new year arrives with all of it's hope and promise.....
...I make a vow.
This is the year I'm going to be organized.
I know.
I get it.
I understand.
Hope springs eternal.
So if you are like me and have some spaces around your home that need to be organized....
.....here are a few easy organizing ideas for 2015.
Use your extra wall space for organization opportunities.
1. The Walls Have It
Take another look at your vertical spaces. Create a clutter-free zone on a blank wall in your home, like this wall featured in Better Homes and Gardens.
Paint a wall with chalkboard paint and cover the remaining wall with stick-on cork you can find in any home improvement store.
Then add rods to hang paper towels and buckets from hooks and finish off the corner with bookshelves for extra storage.
Track lighting keeps your home well lit without taking space.
2. Light It Up
My favorite thing about this organized laundry space featured in Better Homes and Gardens is the lighting.
Simple track lighting helps focus the light where you need it and creates a brighter work space.
Built-ins and a simple space bar help to make laundry (almost) a breeze.

3. Home Office Essentials
Create a space in your home for a home office like this colorful corner from Better Homes and Gardens.
Add simple shelving above a desk and stack with brightly colored organizers and bins.
Tuck a fun office chair into the space and then hang a peg board on the wall and create a seven day organizer with patterned clipboards, one for every day of the week.
Storage with doors helps you stay clean and organized.
4. When One Door Closes....
Sometimes the best solution is to close the door on the subject. Especially when the doors are made from beautiful barn wood, like this pantry featured on Apartment Therapy.
Barn door hardware can be found at any home improvement store to create a one-of-a-kind storage center.
Add a collection of white dishes and an over-sized clock to organize for style.
I really think that this is the year for an organized home.
I mean, after all, doesn't 2015 look like an organized set of numbers?
Truly.
I'll keep you posted...
