This stylish home office by Homepolish is great inspiration to update your workspace for the New Year
Whether you're a CEO working in a sleek high-rise; an entrepreneur with a decked-out home office; or a teen with a steady stream of incoming homework, everyone needs a comfortable and quiet space to sit down and get 'er done. Many New Year's Resolutions revolve around productivity and deadlines, so might I suggest an update to your workspace to set yourself up for success?
To create an office that's both stylish and functional, you'll need 3 things: a desk, an office chair, and a desk lamp.
A statement-making desk, like this one by Jennifer Pacca interiors, is the centerpiece of any home office
Select a Desk
The primary purpose of a desk is function, so choose a work surface with storage options and a large enough workspace to suit your needs. Most home office desks have at least one or two drawers to corral supplies and clutter, and some even have hidden cable management (a huge benefit for neat-freaks like me!). If your work is primarily paperless and wireless, a sleek console table can often serve double-duty as a desk.

Add an Office Chair
If I can give you one piece of advice when updating your workspace, it's this: invest in a great desk chair. Not only will your knees and back thank you, your productivity is guaranteed to increase if you're not distracted by discomfort. There's an abundance of beautiful, affordable desk chair options out there. If you don't require a chair that swivels or has castors, a dining chair is a stylish alternative.

Add Style with a Desk Lamp
A desk lamp is the perfect way to inject personality to your workspace. Be bold with your lighting and make a design statement! LED desk lamps are sleek and modern. Kids desk lamps are whimsical and fun. Or for a more "homey" look, try a table lamp instead of a typical desk lamp design.
