Many designers look to a clean and modern aesthetic when designing bathrooms, forgetting the playful personality that can exist in planning colorful bathrooms.
Domino Magazine has the same cheerful personality I was looking for when I thought about this post, so off I went searching for the right images.
There are a multitude of ways to infuse you bathroom with color, even if you have a plain white, basic loo.
One way to introduce an immediate splash of color is with wallpaper. While wallpaper can change a room instantly, there is one practical matter to consider...moisture.
Personally I love wallpaper in a powder room because there will be no damp heat, steam and splashing to jeopardize the paper.
Regardless of how fabulous your vibrant walls appear, you will still need to break them up with bathroom basics. Items like towel bars and hooks, not to mention the mainstay bathroom mirrors that will reflect your stylish walls!
Another way to create a colorful bathroom is through tile. Whether you go for a pattern or solid color, make sure you are totally in love with the color and pattern.
Unlike paint and paper, tile is there...like forever there. I like how these rooms have some white wall space to balance the color and stripes.
Another way to create balance would be to opt for simple wall lights to brighten a dynamically designed room.
If your rooms is plain white, you may wish to reverse the plan and push the color boundaries with bold lighting and colorful mirrors, towels and accessories.
1. A simple polished nickel sconce would be understated if you have brightly colored walls.
2. Think about infusing rich color in a white bathroom with a royal blue wall mirror.
3. An orange mini pendant light would be a wonderful punch of color in a powder room.
4. A spindle accent table like this red one would be a great surface for towels besides a bathtub.
5. Keep your bathroom bright with a bath bar, like this Hyllcastle bath bar from Minka Lavery.
