One of the things I think about when I can build and design my dream kitchen is how I will implement a beautiful and well organized kitchen pantry.
The kitchen pantry is a place not only for storage, but if its large enough, to house additional appliances and become a second, smaller kitchen space in some cases.
However, while large pantries are an amazing addition to the kitchen, if you don't have the space for a walk-in storage space, smaller pantry solutions can also be practical and impeccably chic.
With this inspiration round up from Onekindesign we will talk about the best ways to achieve an organized kitchen pantry whether big or small.
Large Walk-in Pantry Spaces
What is the saying - "If you've got it, flaunt it"? If you have the space for a beautiful, large pantry why not deck it out in glorious storage solutions and beautiful organization. Seagrass baskets in deeper bottom cabinets are a perfect way to organize things without the worry of clutter.
Leave your prettier items for the open shelving above and keep the counter space minimal to allow for an additional workspace if needed.
Library ladders are not only for libraries. Utilize every inch of your pantry space from floor to ceiling without worrying about how you will reach the very top. With plenty of space, a library ladder lets you access your extras in your pantry in a cool and stylish way.
If you want to make a statement in the pantry adding wallpaper or paint in a fun color will do just that. With open shelves the pantry already has a lot going on visually, so adding a fun wallpaper in a contrasting color draws the eye away from the clutter of the shelves an to the design of the wall behind.
One stylish mini pendant casts task lighting on the shelving without overwhelming the already packed space.
If you have enough space in you pantry to make it a permanent home for plugged in appliances, you should certainly take advantage of that.
Larger bulky pieces that take up way too much space on the kitchen counter and are not used daily are perfect for the pantry. They never have to be moved, and are out of sight, leaving you with a beautifully clean kitchen and a multi-functional pantry.
Small Space Solutions
Working in a pantry in a small space is not as tricky as you might think. I love the solution above where half of the media center was designated for the pantry. The coolest design element though is that a large barn door completely conceals the pantry space when you want to kick back and watch TV.
With electronic components taking up less and less space these days, consider this solution to give yourself additional kitchen storage without sacrificing design.
A lot of older kitchens have built-in open shelving that can be useful, but sometimes you don't want everything you would keep in the pantry on display all the time. Adding doors can help conceal part of the pantry while still leaving some open shelving easily accessible.
Keep the more organized items in the open half, while storing extras and bulky items behind the doors for a clean, minimal look.
A very shallow pantry can pose a problem for ample storage for some, however most people forget about utilizing the back of the pantry doors as additional storage space. Narrow hanging racks double your storage capacity and fold directly into the pantry so everything can be completely out of sight.
