Modern and Minimal Bathroom Lighting Upgrades

One place that, in my opinion, should always feel fresh, new and thoughtful is your bathroom. Whether in your master bath, kids bath or the powder room, this space should always feel well thought out and clean.

While I am not a huge proponent for modern and minimal design, I do think that this look works exceptionally well in a bathroom. The clean lines and finishes help to propel the sense that the space is perpetually clean, when we all know that sometimes clothes piles and soap scum can creep their way in!

Typically you will find that chic bathroom vanity lights that are modern and minimal are in a polished chrome or nickel finish and are LED compatible. These bathroom lighting fixtures are highly designed, but their sleek lines and new age aesthetic make them feel minimal overall since they are not fussy, bulky or ornate.

A range of bathroom lighting styles available from Lamps Plus

VERTICAL

Vertical bath sconces are perfect when you want to create a makeup or preparation vanity are in your bathroom. Replacing the classic look of makeup vanity bulbs, this Bubble Glass Tube Wall Sconce can be hung vertically and horizontally to perfectly frame your bathroom mirror while evenly lighting your face from all angles.

HORIZONTAL

Horizontal bath lighting is the most common way to light your bathroom vanity. Hung over the mirror, they cast a long, even glow on your face that is not as harsh as overhead lighting can be. This minimal chrome three light fixture can be perfect in just about any bathroom space since its so minimal that it becomes very versatile.

SQUARE

Square sconces can be used in a number of ways in your bathroom. They can either be hung as sconces alongside your mirror, mounted in a line to replace a horizontal bar fixture or placed in a darker corner for accent lighting. I love the shape of this clear and frosted glass LED sconce because the slight bend gives it depth and interest without making it a focal point.

HANGING

By far the least minimal of the bunch, but still minimal enough for the round-up is the hanging pendant. For someone who doesn't want to commit too heavily to the stark lines of a modern, minimal look, this polished chrome and glass sconce has character while still feeling fresh and clean.

How will you upgrade your bathroom lighting?
