Home Decor Inspired by India - Part 2 - Shape!
The amount of attention paid to architectural detail in India is amazing! It's easy to be inspired by India and translate the beautiful details into your own home decor. Buildings standing across this vast country have undulating curves and finely distinctive geometric shapes, lending to stunning visual moments. As in the pictures above from Conde Nast Traveler and An Indian Summer, there may be no more beautiful architecture than across India.
There are so many opportunities to bring the beautiful architectural shapes of India into your own home decor. As you will see throughout this post, and in the images above from Flickr, the shapes takes center stage and color (the beautiful color we focused on in Part 1) fades to the wayside. These shapes are easily integrated into your home design whether you favor a more streamlined, modern look or a funkier, eclectic style. Because the colors remain neutral, including these Indian-inspired details will add depth to your space, but not overwhelm your existing style.
The image above from Flickr is a gorgeous example of the neutral geometric detail of Indian Architecture. Adding a graphic accent table or carved arched wall mirror can really make that necessary pop in your space.
