Let’s face it, restyling after the holidays can be tough. Your house has been host to trees, garlands, surfaces covered with cards and tiny villages. Been there, done that? It’s time to face some empty space and get back to normal. Although normal can become something super chic if you put your mind to it.
There tend to be some standard spaces in most homes that gets the usual holiday decor such as the “oh so familiar” corner between the fireplace and a window, the foyer visible from the living room, and the transition between the living room and dining room. These spaces can remain stylish all year with the right home decor.
To keep spirits high in your living room during the midst of winter, try introducing bold patterned chairs or pillows, jewel-toned floor lamps to keep corners as bight as a bedazzled tree, as well as tables and chests that can display flowers, plants and accessories that enliven an otherwise dead space.
Transitional spaces like hallways and in-between rooms where trees and wreaths once dominated, try taller topiary boxwood plants or larger arrangements. Starburst mirrors and mirrored tables are another way to keep the holiday sparkle alive as are chandeliers and shiny lighting fixtures like the buffet lamps above.
