Most neutrals are soothing hues. Oatmeal in particular happens to be a neutral that never goes out of style for home design and works with just about every aesthetic. Savvy Home Blog had beautiful pictures of interiors that were dominated by creamy shades of oatmeal.
When combined with whites oatmeal becomes cool enough for the warmer months and when incorporated with browns, burgundy and deep greens it’s the coziest winter palette around. Playing with various shades of the same color will also make a room look complete and layered, so don’t be afraid if the neutrals are not exactly the same. Oatmeal may be relaxing but you never want your room putting guests to sleep!
